About the Bulldogs

Our club has a long and highly regarded history. It was established in the 1950s by Kevin and Norma Crathern and moved to the current site at Trinity Beach in the 1980’s following a great deal of hard work by the Crathern family and volunteers. It remains very much a family club. We have a “ONE CLUB” approach where juniors, women , seniors and netball all work together to achieve success.

In 2018: Our Seniors finished 4th and have played finals for the last 4 years. Our Reserves have won a grand final.  Juniors have over 8 teams including 2x Youth girls’ teams. We also have a Women’s team and many teams in the netball competition.

Our club has excellent facilities, with the Sports Club available to the general public for meals, functions, TAB & gaming room.

The Lifestyle in Trinity Beach is second to none, with the beach at our doorstep and with the beautiful FNQ weather, it sure is a great place to come & play footy, We are only 20kms from Cairns CBD and have a great shopping centre at Smithfield, only a 5-minute drive away.

Employment: Cairns is one of the fastest growing regional areas in Queensland. Employment opportunities are similar to what one would expect in any large regional centre with a population of around 170,000. These range from farming and trade to service employment. Some employment is seasonal whilst other jobs can depend on specific demand, for example building projects that are underway or about to commence. The club will assist, as far as possible, to help players get a job.

Bulldogs accommodation; There is usually good rental opportunities in the local area ranging from units to shared houses or even backpacker accommodation. In the main prices are lower than in capital cities or even those in regions in the Southern States. In the past accommodation has not normally been an issue for new players & family's.

Payment for players: Payments will be determined on how much talent you can bring to our club. This will be either by incentive schemes or base player payments.
